The fervor has died down now that the
show has ended, but Pimp My Ride was a rather popular show for
a while there. I remember hearing other people talk about it and I
dismissed it as a stupid concept, but after actually watching the
show I had to admit it is pretty entertaining. The host, Xzibit,
comes off as a likable guy that just likes to help people out and do
retarded things to cars. Near the end of the show's lifespan, in
2006, a video game developed by by Eutechnyx was released for the
Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, and Wii. Eutechnyx is most known for their
various racing games such as Big Mutha Truckers,
so it is surprising that they resisted the urge to put racing into a
game about cars.

Insane Bicycle Stunt Bonus
There are few games that I have played
as much as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Steam says I've
played it for 73 hours, which is a lot, but it's not an absurd amount
considering the game. Of course, Steam doesn't account for all the
time I put into the console versions of the game. On PS2, I must
have played it twice as much as that, though not quite as much on
Xbox. Overall, that is an absurd amount of time. The scary thing
is, I still haven't done everything there is to do in the game. I
guess that's just the way Rockstar games go for me.

A Brief Look At Gundam Games
Video games based on Gundam have a
terrible reputation, and it while it is not entirely undeserved,
there are a great deal that goes completely overlooked. There are a
lot of games that are awful, a lot that might be good for fans of
certain genres, and some that are incredibly satisfying for fans of
the series. As a fan of the franchise, I can understand how readers
may not consider me a reliable source, but there are good Gundam
games, and it bothers me that people seem to completely dismiss any
game with the Gundam on it. This is by no means a complete guide,
but I think it covers a good deal of important titles.

Pryzm Chapter One: The Dark Unicorn
I don't think there a lot of games that have made me laugh out load right there in the store, but considering what you see above, Pryzm Chapter One: The Dark Unicorn definitely did. It's just a clusterfuck of weirdness that you just don't see anymore. I wouldn't be surprised to hear an NES game described as “a game where you play as a unicorn that uses magic to save enemies that have a plague” because that was a time when games were abstract and weird stories were invented to market games, but for a PS2 game from 2002, it's quite jarring. Unlike NES games, that weird story actually describes the game pretty well.

Trigger Man: Please Shoot Me Now
Trigger Man is such a terrible mess of a game. It is so bad that when I had a party in celebration of poverty games and encouraged people to go and buy the cheapest shit they could find, two people showed up with copies of Trigger Man, and neither spent more than two dollars on it. Trigger Man is so bad that the “reception” section of its wikipedia page is just a bulleted list of its faults. It is so bad that I've seen more than one person try to play it for over an hour and never finish the first level. This game is so bad that it is Point of View Inc.'s worst game, and they made the NFL Blitz sequels.

Whirl Tour
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was a scooter game with some cockamamie story about portals zapping the player into strange locals? Me neither, but apparently somebody at Papaya Studio did when they made Whirl Tour. It plays like the most blatant ripoff of a Tony Hawk game I've played, but maybe they got away with it by having it on scooters and with a bad cartoon art style. From what I can tell, Papaya Studio has never made anything good, usually doing licensed games for cartoon properties.

Bujingai: The Gackt City
Bujingai: The Forsaken City AKA The Gackt Game is something of an oddity. It is a 3D hack and slash action platformer sort of game for the PS2 developed by Red Entertainment, the company that made the cult hit Gungrave. It came out during the post-Devil May Cry rush of action games of the mid-2000's that ended up giving gamers quite a few good games, as well as some crap. Almost all of these games had different strengths. Devil May Cry was the technical one (just try to forget about Devil May Cry 2), Ninja Gaiden was the hard one, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence was the one that had really good music, and I would say that Bujingai was the stylish one.
